I/O Error while installation
Question: While the installation an I/O Error appears: “An I/O error occured while installing a file. This is normally caused by bad installation media or a corrupt installation file."
The installation stops at any file.
Answer: This error message appears if your CD is scratched or damaged. But also when your CPU is over clocked or your main memory is having problems.
Try to copy the complete CD content on the hard disk drive and attempt to install the game. If a “CRC-Error” appears the CD could be damaged.
Change your CD speed with the following program and try to install again:

Question:
The CD doesn’t show the full CD content and the setup won’t start after double click on the setup.exe. Setup menu is freezing and the CD spins continuing.

Question:

Disable your firewalls, anti-virus tools and anti-dialer programs. Known programs which are disturb the game start are Spy sweeper Agnitum Outpost Firewall (Freeware) and Panda Antivirus.
For older games you can use the compatible mode on windows xp. Click with the right mouse button on the “game.exe” in the game directory, you can also use the shortcut. Try to select properties/compatible mode, tick the Windows98/ME check box and click OK.
If service pack 2 is already installed please check if at start/settings/control panel/system properties/ advanced/performance setting/date execution prevention/ the check box “Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only” is selected.
